I have created art most of my life. From designing and sewing, to drawing and painting. I have always looked for an avenue to create. I earned a B.A. degree in graphic design and a post graduate degree in Art Education from Texas Tech University. I have developed art programs and taught art, but my first love is painting.
Through much experimentation, I have developed a unique and recognizable style of my own. My use of color and texture is most often expressed in watercolor on Yupo paper, or in acrylic on canvas. I hope my use of nontraditional color brings a smile to the viewer, as it does to me as I paint. The Rocky Mountains have given me abundant resources for painting flowers, mountains, rivers, donkeys, fish, horses, and yes, even local llamas!
Painting with watercolors has been my passion for the last 35 years. Along the way I have included acrylics on my art journey. As I have developed an expressionistic style of my own, recreating reality of my subjects has not been my goal. I love bright colors and pattern and texture and the "playfulness" of using these elements to make my viewers smile!
